2. Safety first—lock-out & verify The switch interrupts 110 VDC governor circuits. Lock the main disconnect, engage the car-top inspection switch and wait 60 s for the rail to fall below 5 V. Keep the new NYE switch in its anti-static bag until mounting—ESD can damage the gold-plated contacts.
3. Mechanical mounting—keep it positive Housing: 60 × 40 × 25 mm, mass 0.12 kg.
   Mount on governor head or car-top bracket using 2 × M4 screws, torque 1.5 N·m.
   Maintain 2 mm contact gap; every 0.2 mm reduction halves breaking capacity. NYE supplies a free stainless bracket (NY-BRACKET-AK) and 2 mm spacer (NY-SPAC-AK) for quick alignment.

5. Reset procedure & functional test Insert Otis T-key, turn 45° clockwise; N/C must open, N/O must close within 10 ms.

   If travel >60° or continuity >100 mΩ, contacts are worn—replace switch immediately.

8. Preventive inspection checklist Monthly: visual actuator, insert T-key, listen for crisp click. Quarterly: measure contact continuity; >100 mΩ schedules replacement. Annually: megger contacts to PE >100 MΩ; <10 MΩ indicates moisture ingress. Bi-annually: torque test M4 screws; vibration loosens them, causing misalignment.
9. Rapid swap (downtime < 2 min) a) Place car at mid-floor, lock-out, tag out.
   b) Photograph wire numbers with phone.
   c) Remove 2 screws, slide old switch out.
   d) Insert new NYE TAB177AK11/12/13/14, torque 1.5 N·m, set gap 2 mm.
   e) Restore cables, perform reset test.
   f) Log serial number and continuity; return old unit for recycling.
